Based on the popular American Idol and Canadian Idol television shows, this inaugural Townshippers' Idol karaoke contest will showcase the talents of teens from local youth centres. A preliminary round will take place in the Youth Tent (K) from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the final will take place on the Entertainment Stage (1) at 3 p.m.
Eligibility : Youth aged 17 and under will be signed up in advance. Each youth group will send in a maximum of five names each. .

Rules: Each contestant picks a song from a list of 24 provided. These songs must be available in a karaoke version (accompaniment only). The words are to be memorized and the song performed for one minute. Three chosen winners will be able to present their songs on the main stage at 3 p.m.
Prizes : Free T-shirts will be awarded to the three finalists. The overall winner will be awarded a trophy for Townships Idol 2005.
Judges : The contest will be judged by Emma Stevens, Hank Avery, and Bill Jarand, and hosted by Bedford's own Kevin Sea-Craft! Townships Idol 2005 is sponsored by Dan Whitham.

Concours Townships Idol
Inspir� des �missions populaires American Idol et Canadian Idol, ce premier concours de karaoke Vedette d'un jour / Townshippers' Idol mettra en vedette des adolescents des maisons de jeunes des environs. Premi�re partie sous la tente des Jeunes (K) de midi � 13 h 30. Finale sous le Grand chapiteau (1) � 15 h. Juges : Emma Stevens, Hank Avery et Bill Jarand.
Admissibilité : Jeunes de 17 ans et moins s'inscrivent à l'avance. Chaque groupe de jeunes peut inscrire un maximum de cinq noms.

Règlements : Chaque concurrent choisit une chanson dans la liste de 24 titres fournie. Ces chansons doivent être disponibles en version karaoké (accompagnement seulement). Les paroles doivent être mémorisées et la chanson chantée pendant une minute. Trois gagnants seront choisis et présenteront leurs chansons sur la grande scène à 15 h.
Prix : Un gaminet sera remis aux trois finalistes. Le grand gagnant se verra attribué un trophée Townships Idol 2005.
Juges : Le concours sera jug� par Emma Stevens, Hank Avery, et Bill Jarand et anim� par nul autre que le Bedfordois Kevin Sea-Craft! Townships Idol 2005 est commandit� par Dan Whitham.
